Foglight
Turns your slides and notes into quiz levels, and every answer points back to the page it came from.

Foglight is a desktop app for studying. Drop in a PDF, a PowerPoint (.pptx), a Word file, or a YouTube video with captions, and it builds short levels of multiple-choice questions plus a spaced-repetition review queue.
Every answer can be found word for word in your material. If a question can't be traced back to the source, Foglight throws it away before you ever see it. Tap any question to jump to the page or timestamp it came from.
- Mark a word or phrase in the original page to make your own fill-in cards.
- Import a Word question bank with answers, and it becomes a quiz directly, no AI involved.
- Use your own cloud AI key, or a free local model that runs offline.
AI-made questions can still be wrong sometimes, so you can delete any question with one tap.
Updates
Foglight has a website now
foglight.site is live, in English and Chinese, with the promo video, a walkthrough of how it works, and download links for Windows and Mac. A web version is under construction too: if you'd use it, tap "I want the web version" on the site. Thanks to Jiakai Li for a huge contribution to getting it launched.
Foglight 0.3.1 released
Flip back and forth while reading the original page, delete a fill-in card with one tap, and a new mode for reviewing only the words you marked.
